Grenache Gris
Grenache Gris
The Grenache Gris is a grape variety that is less well-known than its brother Grenache Noir and sister Grenache Blanc. Family, but not the same. In France, the Grenache Gris is allowed in the same appellations where the Grenache Blanc can also be used. You will find it mainly in the Languedoc and in the Rhône valley. There it is used, among other things, for the white Châteauneuf-du-Pape. In Spain they call him Gernacha Roja. There you will find it in Catalonia, Navarre and La Mancha. Here, too, the winemakers often blend it with other grapes.
