Gaglioppo

Gaglioppo is a blue grape variety from Calabria. The grape has a strange feel with its very light color and intensely sweet mix of rose water and strawberries. However, it is the most important grape in almost all DOCs in the region. The Gaglioppo grape comes from Greece, The Gaglioppo is a soft and berry-like grape and has a thick skin. Thanks to this thick skin, it is resistant to the heat that Calabria sometimes has. It comes into its own in the dry and arid vineyards.

What does wine from the Gaglioppo grape taste like?

In the glass ruby red in color with freshly picked red fruit in the nose such as red cherries, red currants and a little rosehip. The taste is particularly soft with fine fruit aromas of raspberry, fresh plums and light spicy accents.
