Fiano
Fiano
Fiano is a white grape that is most commonly found in the south of Italy (Campania). This grape variety is also found in Sicily. In terms of taste, the Fiano is closer to the Greco, but the difference between the two is that the Fiano is slightly fruitier and the acidity is slightly lower than the Greco. Most wines made from the Fiano grape can be stored a little longer. That is why you will see with Grandcruwijnen that these wines have a fairly large drinking window for a white wine and sometimes have to wait a while before they are fully flavored. The colour of the grape is straw yellow, just like the wines produced from the Fiano grape. This is a delicious grape with, for example, a pasta or as an aperitif.
