Viosinho

The Viosinho is a white grape variety originating from Portugal. The grape most likely comes from the Douro region in the north of Portugal and since the mid-19th century this variety has been known for its quality. Recent research has shown that it is probably related to the Tinta Francisca, the Tinto Cão and the Lado.

What does wine from the Viosinho grape taste like?

Viosinho produces full-bodied but fresh, fragrant and aromatic wines. The sugar and acidity are nicely balanced, reminiscent of sauvignon blanc for some.
