Sercial is a white grape variety that grows on the Portuguese island of Madeira, specifically on the north side of the island. The Sercial grape is used to make the somewhat drier Madeiras. The grape has a fairly high acidity. The grape is also found in mainland Portugal. The grape is mainly used to make Madeira, but also for white port and other white Portuguese wines. The grape is also found in white Port and in other white Portuguese wines.
