Picolit is a white grape variety from the northeast of Italy, mainly from the Friuli region. This grape needs poor, volcanic soil to thrive. This grape gives a very low yield, because the flowering in the spring is difficult to start. It will therefore come as no surprise that the grape's name comes from the Italian word "piccolo", which means small. This is also the reason why the grape is not planted on a large scale.

What does wine from the Picolit grape taste like?

The aromas of the wine are apricots and peach. The sweet wines have a very complex nose of honey, dried figs, vanilla and flowers.
