Magliocco is an interesting native blue grape. The grapes are grown exclusively in Calabria and the two varieties together cover no more than 700 hectares. The grape is of ancient origin, with descriptions dating back to 1500. The magliocco is a grape variety that ripens late until the first and second week of October. The grape variety adapts well to a warm climate and to drought.

What does wine from the Magliocco grape taste like?

The wine of the magliocco has an intense ruby red color, sits well in the alcohol, is harmonious and supple with aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of spices. The high content of tannins makes the wine very suitable for longer aging. The grape naturally has a good spiciness and structure.
