Heida
Heida
Heida is the Swiss name for this grape and is a synonym of the Savignin (Blanc) and this should not be confused with Sauvignon Blanc. Other names are Paien and Weißer Traminer (known from the relative the gewürztraminer). The grape is used in the French Jura for the production of Vin Jaune. The Valais, and especially the German-speaking part of Valais (Valais) in Switzerland, is famous for the Heida.
