Callet
Callet
Callet is a scarce grape variety that comes from the island of Mallorca and was not appreciated for a long time because of its peasant character. The grape was not suitable for the production of red and rosé wines. In addition, the yield is low, resulting in an alcohol-rich wine with a deep color. Therefore, this variety is mainly mixed with other grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet or Tempranillo. This creates a popular, strong and spicy wine, where the Callet grape adds to the complexity of the wine.
