Description
Acrobat wines are made in Oregon, the state famous for its high quality Pinot Noirs and Chardonnay. The region has many similarities with Burgundy (also in latitude) so it is not surprising that these 2 grapes do particularly well.
Acrobat Oregon Chardonnay 2021
Fresh elegance from Oregon's cooler climate
The Acrobat Oregon Chardonnay 2021 is a refined and expressive white wine from the northwestern United States. This wine is made from 100% Chardonnay, sourced from carefully selected vineyards spread throughout Oregon , a region that is increasingly gaining worldwide recognition for its elegant, cool-climate wines. Acrobat, the winery of King Estate, is known for its accessible and quality wines. Acrobat has vineyard properties in various parts of Oregon. The Chardonnay grapes come from various vineyards in the hills and valleys of western Oregon. The juice is fermented in a combination of stainless steel and new oak. The wine is then aged on its yeast cells ( 'sur lie' ) for four months: this gives the wine extra complexity and creaminess.
Taste profile: fresh, round and balanced
In the glass, this Chardonnay shows a bright, light yellow color with golden reflections. The bouquet opens with lively aromas of ripe apple, peach and lime, followed by subtle notes of vanilla, roasted almond and a hint of butter from the partial maturation in French oak. In the mouth you taste a fresh, balanced structure with sufficient depth. The wine is full and creamy, but retains a nice tension thanks to a lively acidity. The finish is clean, mineral and refreshing.
Wine and food: a versatile accompaniment at the table
The Acrobat Chardonnay 2021 goes well with various dishes. Think of grilled fish, shellfish, creamy pastas or roasted chicken with lemon and herbs. Thanks to its fresh acids and round structure, this wine is also a perfect match with risotto with green asparagus, salad with creamy avocado or dishes with a creamy sauce.
Due to its accessible character and beautiful balance between fruit and freshness, this Chardonnay is also an excellent choice as an aperitif wine, for example with a drinks platter with soft cheeses and lightly salted nuts.
Serving suggestion
Serve the Acrobat Oregon Chardonnay at a temperature of 8 to 10 °C in a large wine glass, so that the aromas can fully develop. A delicious wine that will delight both novice and experienced wine drinkers.
FACT: Acrobat is owned by the renowned Foley Wines, who also own Sebastiani in California.
