Pessac-Léognan - Sauvignon Blanc
Pessac-Leognan is een gemeente-appellatie ten zuiden van de stad Bordeaux. De wijngaarden liggen hier tussen de pijnboombossen. De bodem is hier lichter, bevat meer zand dan in de Medoc. De wijnen zijn over het algemeen rond en stevig met soms aangenaam aardse tonen. De meeste zijn wat lichter en sappiger dan de AOP-wijnen uit de Medoc.
De rode wijnen bestaan grotendeels uit cabernet sauvignon en merlot. Het merendeel van de wijnproductie is rood, maar er worden ook grote houtgerijpte witte wijnen van semillon en sauvignon blanc gemaakt.
In Pessac-Leognan ligt het wijnhuis Premier Grand Cru Classe Haut-Brion.
