Pazo de Barrantes is located in the Salnés Valley (Pontevedra), where there are perfect conditions for the growth of Albariño grapes. This impressive Pazo (Galician country house) has been owned by the family of the Count of Creixell since 1511 and rises from the vineyards Pazo de Barrantes is located in the heart of the Rías Baixas and has 30 hectares surrounding historic Pazo. Pazo Barrantes is without doubt one of the flagship wines of the Rías Baixas DO. The Albariño grape grows in the Pazo de Barrantes' vineyard with the famous sea injection. This vineyard provides a lot of aromatic complexity to the wine, thanks to the natural influences on the landscape. The Pazo de Barrantes is the perfect 'sister winery' of Marqués de Murrieta. They complement each other perfectly, Marques is among the top of the Rioja and Pazo de Barrantes the top among the Albarinos. Both the Barrantes Albariño and the scarce La Comtesse are among the absolute top of the Spanish Albariños
Giannikos Winery bezit 8 ha wijnstokken op twee locaties, één in Korinthe rond de wijnmakerij en de andere in Mycene, nabij de beroemde archeologische vindplaats en geboorteplaats van de Griekse wijnbouw bijna 4000 jaar geleden. Beide wijngaarden worden strikt biologisch geteeld omdat men ervan overtuigd is dat alleen natuurlijk geteelde wijnstokken gezonde druiven kunnen produceren die de basis vormen van hun kwaliteitswijnen. Een ander belangrijk aspect is de invloed van de zee op het microklimaat. De verkoelende winden zorgen samen met de mediterrane zon en de bodem voor de beste omstandigheden en zijn de redenen dat Giannikos Winery internationaal inmiddels al zeer gewild en bekend is maar gezien de kleine productie.
Griekenland heeft een rijk erfgoed van inheemse druivensoorten en bij Giannikos Winery heeft men als filosofie om de traditie en nieuwe technologie te verenigen. Daarom teelt men biologisch en oogsten en snoeien men zorgvuldig met de hand. In de wijnmakerij gebruiken ze moderne stalen tanks, ultramoderne machines en Franse eiken vaten van geselecteerde fabrikanten.
