Le Crocine - Giannikos Winery

Le Crocine is a domain in the wine region of Bolgheri and was founded by Niccolò Marzichi Lenzi. The Lenzi family is a prominent family from Florence and Niccolo's mother is Ilaria Antinori, sister of Piero and Lodovico Antinori. His wife Joy is in charge of the Le Crocine domain and her twin sister Eva starred in the James Bond film Casino Royale in 2006.

Bolgheri is located in the municipality of Castagneto Carducci in the Maremma, on the coast of Tuscany. From the 1970s onwards, Bolgheri was qualitatively put on the map by the production of the famous Super Tuscans such as Sassicaia, Tignanello and Ornellaia. Niccolò grew up on a farm in the middle of Tuscany and wine is part of his DNA. The memories of the walks with his father through the vineyards and the sound of the fermenting Sangiovese inspired him to make his own wine. After many years of traveling, he returned to his roots to make his dream come true, together with his wife Joy Green. The intense, terroir-driven wines of Le Cro-cine have achieved cult status in a short time. Le Crocine produces 4 impressive red cuvées, all with a unique personality and based on the classic large Bordeaux grapes: cabernet (franc and/or sauvignon) and sometimes a little merlot - Supertuscans all the way, but in the end with roots from the Antinori family. isn't that strange either.
