Het Zuid-Afrikaanse wijndistrict Walker Bay valt onder het gebied Cape South Coast. Cape South Coast omvat jongere wijnbouwgebieden aan de relatief koele zuidkust. Walker Bay was een van de eerste zogenaamde 'cool climate zones'. Het gebied heeft een bodem van verweerde leisteen. De belangrijkste districten in dit gebied zijn Elgin en Walker Bay. Walker Bay is oostelijk gelegen en het is er een fractie warmer ten opzichte van bijvoorbeeld Elgin. Ook valt er wat minder neerslag. In deze regio doen voornamelijk chardonnay en pinot noir druiven het erg goed, en de regio is dan ook beroemd om zijn uitermate prachtige Chardonnay's en Pinot Noirs. 

In het Walker Bay district bevinden zich ook weer diverse subgebieden/appellations waaronder de Hemel-en-Aarde Vallei, Bot River en Sunday's Glen.
