In the south of Italy, or the heel of the boot, has been on the rise since then. The government plays a stimulating role in this and asked years ago the famous Antinori family and the De Corato  family (Rivera) to unleash their expertise on this. That is entrusted to them. The De Corato family of Rivera and Antinori belong to a small group of famous winemakers and are the only representatives of the Apulia region in the Istituto Grandi Marchi. This institution houses the 19 most prestigious Italian wine producers such as Antinori, Gaja, Biondi Santi, Masi, Sassicaia, Pio Cesare, Tasca d'Almerita, Lungarotti, Lageder, Jermann to name a few.

Antinori has taken Tormaresca under his wing and a team of winemakers has ensured in a very short time that the 500 hectares of Tormaresca domains produce beautiful wines. The area of Puglia has become one of the most famous D.O.C. areas of Italy. Tormaresca is located in 2 of the main wine regions, with Bocca di Lupo in the D.O.C. Castel del Monte and with Masserìa Maime in Salento. The name Tormaresca has a direct link with the rich history of the area. Tormaresca, or tower by the sea, refers to the many watchtowers that still adorn the Puglia coastline. This watchtower is also proudly featured in the house's logo. A surprising area, long known for its bulk, but for years now on the advance, with Tormaresca at the forefront of the battle. The versatile wines are now nationally and internationally recognized and widely appreciated. Partly organically produced and all with a direct link to Puglia.
