Harry Hartman

Harry Hartman Wine Company is the winery of Marcel Hartman and Sean Harrison, who are obsessed with wine and have a deep, passionate love for the Cape, its terroir and the talents and characters of its people. All of this has inspired them to showcase and share some of the Cape's most extraordinary wines, stories and personalities with other friends around the world.

The company started with two products and will continue to complement the range, always remaining a boutique business, creating small, immaculately made wine batches. For the launch, the friends opted for a Bordeaux-style red blend from Stellenbosch and a Shiraz from Cederberg and Stellenbosch. The very first bottling of Harry Hartman wines was on Valentine's Day 2020. The first bottles were hand waxed with a pan of wax on the stove in an old Cape Dutch house with 7 dogs running around and labeled by hand. Only 2,500 bottles of each brand are made to always ensure that customers receive products that are truly exclusive and unique. The idea for "Harry Hartman" came about when Sean Harrison and Marcel Hartman met and regularly visited The Winevillage. They met winemakers in Elgin and Hemel & Aarde Valley and wanted to bring the wines from South Africa to the attention and promote the high quality overseas.

Their "secret winemakers" are located in Elgin and Botrivier. Hartman" is not a person, but Sean Harrison's nickname and Marcel Hartman's last name. The name "Harry" is the name of their agent in Johannesburg and Marcel's parrot. The Harry Hartman Wine company wants more cooperation in the wine world. Recently they made a wine together with Joseph T. Dhafana- Africa's best Sommelier and owner of Mosi Wines.
