Dominio De Tares is a collective adventure of a number of young winemakers and Bierzo enthusiasts. Located in Castilla y Leon, this area of Spain is one of the most fascinating places in Spain. With a healthy obsession with old Mencia vines (over 80 years old), their wines are tasty, with balanced fruit, minerals and extremely elegant. Dominio de Tares had now established itself as an international reference point for quality wines from Bierzo. Expressive wines from local grap varieties made by a relatively young, yet very experienced and creative team of wine specialists. Undouctedly one of the most interesting wineries to follow closely.

The (very) old vineyards, the latest technology, long history and boundless passion are the building blocks of Dominio de Tares. The vineyards, part of which are more than 100 years old, are located in the highly regarded wine growing region of El Bierzo, which is considered the Burgundy of Spain. The most prominent grape variety is the Mencia: an 'almost forgotten' native blue grape. The way in which the character of the terroir and the grape varieties in these wines are brought out and united, gives a distinction unique in the Spanish spectrum of this DO

Part of Dominio de Tares is the winery Dominio Dostares. Dominio Dostares, located in the municipality of Pajares de los Oteros (León), has up to 110 year old vines. The main goal of Dominio Dostares is to obtain the highest expression of terroir and Prieto Picudo grape, an indigenous variety from the provinces of León and Zamora, of which there is less than 3000 Ha. The special characteristics of this grape offer countless possibilities for unique red and original rosé wines, with a great aromatic potential and a balanced personality.
