Domaine Larue in Gamay has acquired an outstanding reputation quickly with their wines from Saint-Aubin, Puligny-Montrachet, and Chassagne Montrachet. In traditional light style, precise and not too much wood. The brothers Didier and Denis (and his son Bruno) Larue have their Domaine in Gamay, a hamlet northeast of Saint-Aubin. The vineyards are, therefore, 'on the right side' of Saint-Aubin, namely on the side of Chassagne and Puligny Montrachet. Besides many Saint-Aubin, the Domaine also produces wines from Chassagne and Puligny Montrachet, appellations that appeal more to the imagination because the best white wines in the world are made here. The family has owned vineyards for several generations, but Didier and Denis have decided to start bottling themselves. In a short time, they have acquired an excellent reputation with an honest, pure, terroir-oriented style at comparatively reasonable prices. Vineyard management is conscientious with short pruning and green harvesting, so the yield per hectare is low. Few pesticides are used, and harvesting is done by hand.
