Rustic

Sandwiched between the azure Mediterranean and the mighty Pyrenees, in the far south of France between Perpignan and the coast, is the 15th century mas Domaine Lafage. Surrounding the ancient cellars are no less than 140 hectares of vineyards on poor soils of schist and lime. The domain is now run by the sixth generations of vignerons: the passionate winemaking couple Jean-Marc and Eliane Lafage. After many wanderings around the world and working for various wine producers, Jean-Marc has returned to the parental wine nest.

Vin de Pays from the south of France. Vineyards are located around the town of Perpignan in the Roussillon region. The climate is Mediterranean and warm. The bottom consists of sandstone mixed with gravel and calcareous clay.

Jean-Marie Lafage comes from a winegrowers family and studied Oenology. During his studies he gets to know his wife Eliane (also an oenologist) and together they gain experience abroad (California, Australia, South Africa, Chile). After a few years, they naturally want to realize their dream of setting up their own domain. First they buy vineyards and later Jean-Marie takes over the family domain.
