Wijngaard Bilderhof Dordtsche Bubbels Sekt

It is becoming a trend: Viticulture in the Netherlands and with climate change it is expected that the Netherlands may eventually become an important producer. We have a beautiful Dutch winery in our range, namely Wijngaard de Bilderhof from Holland's oldest city, Dordrecht. The winemaker Wilco Venhuizen has a beautiful vineyard and, unlike many Dutch hobbyists, has chosen to select grapes that do particularly well in our climate, such as the Dornfelder, the Rondo, the Cabernet Cortis and the Johnanniter. These grapes thrive in our climate and produce very unique white and red wines.

The Dortsche Bubbel from Bilderhof is a blend of mainly Johanniter with a little bit of Muscadel. The Johanitter is the "Dutch" Riesling with remarkably sweet grapes and a fresh acidity and therefore ideal for making a fresh dusty fruity Sekt or Lumpy. After picking, fermentation and maturation on stainless steel, the barrel was brought to Germany and the base wine was further rounded by a Sekt specialist into a full-fledged Dordtsche Bubbel and has been available for the first time since June 2020. Wonderfully dusty and fresh with a beautiful perlage and with fresh tones of white flowers, a bit of yellow apple and a hint of citrus, this is a unique and one of the few real Dutch 'champagne'
