The Julien Schaal Mountain Vineyards Chardonnay is also known as the elegant 'French' star wine - it has received many praise without exception and that is not without reason because a wine of this quality at this price few can match. Julie Schaal's winemaking process respects tradition. The grapes are picked by hand at the coolest time of the day. After a gentle squeeze, the juice goes to 300 liter barrels and tank, the fermentation starts with wild yeast. The size of 300 liter barrels helps the wine to develop complexity and terroir aromas. The idea is to maintain the minerality of the wine and the freshness as much as possible, so no malo-lactic fermentation because this would change the aroma profile of the wine and the aim is to keep the wine as original as possible

The philosophy with this Pinotage from Olifantsberg is to make this unique South African variety where elegance and freshness must be of paramount importance and not the many overripe heavy and high in the alcohol pinotages as we unfortunately see too much among the mass producers. This Pinotage puts the grape at the center. The wine is beautifully dark red in the glass. This pinotage surprises in both the nose and the mouth. The wine is very fresh with beautiful fruit and not those rubber and animated tones that have the mass of pinotages. The pinotage is velvety as a Pinot Noir, cherry, mulberry and eucalyptus. The wine has fine-grained but ripe tannins and a small bitterness. The wine is excellent to drink but can also safely mature for 8 years

Close to Stellenbosch, on the way to Paarl is Warwick Estate. This winery has a long history dating back to the year 1791. Between 1791 and 1920, it had a different name and was called "Good Success". This name was changed to Warwick by then owner Alexander Gordon after the Warwickshire regiment in which he served. Nice full mouth with ripe tannins and flavors of coffee and cherries with a firm finish. Nice notes of chocolate and almonds on the nose.

Paul Cluver is a household name with all his wines and is a grandmaster in mainly white wines such as Chardonnay (who does not know the Seven Flags), Sauvignon blanc and Riesling and of course the beautiful almost burgundy looking Pinot Noir. This clear, light red wine has a refined, medium expressive nose with the scent of sweet cherry, berries and roasted herbs. The onset is velvety soft, with fine acids. In the taste fine tannins and juicy fruit, ripe plums and a delicious, long finish in which the fruit predominates. Excellent price / quality ratio.

The Outlier Sauvignon Blanc is barrel fermented in 60% new oak for eight months sur lie. The color is a beautiful straw yellow like a good Sauvignon Blanc should be. It is a complex, characterful wine. full of ripe, tropical fruit and spicy. It has attractive notes of walnut and well-defined oak. The taste is fresh and well balanced with mineral tones (lime), fresh acidity, fruit and grassiness, which is so typical of a Sauvignon blanc. The Outlier has a long mouth-filling finish with a nice hint of orange zest in the finish. Very good.

The Chenin grapes for the Creation Cool Climate Chenin Blanc come from a 15-year-old vineyard in the higher - and therefore cooler - part of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. A Chenin blanc in its purest form with a beautiful golden yellow color in the glass. In the nose aromas of soft ginger, tomato leaf, apple peel and a light note of honey. In the mouth, this Chenin is a pure and at the same time complex wine. Crispy quince, fresh green apple and the creaminess of coconut milk in the background.
