Bodegas Tridente is also part of Juan Gil, a family business founded in 1916 in the center of the city of Jumilla and championing the development of the Jumilia as a (top) wine region. True to its origins, this winery has seamlessly merged tradition and the latest technology with respect for the environment. Juan Gill is also the creator of the famous Clio and the world famous El Nido.

Tridente is located in Castilla y Leon and is a VINO DE LA TIERRA DE CASTILLA Y LEON because according to the (old-fashioned) regulations, only red wine based on Tempranillo is allowed in the Ribera del Duero, where this wine comes from, so perhaps soon too the concept of Super Ribera has arisen as in Tuscany. This Juan Gil Family Estates Tridente Cantagrillos is a new wine and is unique in its kind. It is in fact a Brut Bubbel from the Ribera del Duero and will see the light of day for the first time in 2023 and only a maximum of 8,000 bottles have been made. This is a new sparkling wine, made from an ancient Malvasia vineyard.

The Malvasía grapes come from a vineyard called El Carrueco, planted in 1920 in the traditional "vaso" system on very sandy soils. The hand-picked grapes come from a vineyard close to the winery were previously collected to preserve acidity, after a soft pressing, the must was cooled to cause the sedimentation of impurities, the classic alcoholic fermentation took place very slowly at 14 -16ºC for 2 weeks after which the Champagne from the Ribera is aged on its lees to get more mouthfeel and complexity on the palate. In the glass, this Sparkling Tridente Cantagrillos has a clear, very light straw yellow color with a green tinge at the edge of the glass. The nose is clean and attractive with floral, honey and fruity notes, mainly apples. The bubble is very well integrated into the wine and the balanced acidity makes it a very pleasant wine to drink. Just a very handsome wine from Juan Gil's stable and like all his wines, this new Tridente Cantagrillos again has an excellent price/quality ratio.

Vineyard for Tridente Gil Family Estates Cantagrillos Brut

In Castilla y León you will find Bodegas Tridente, a small winery that specialises in creating wines from Tempranillo and the indigenous varieties Tinta de Toro and Prieto Picudo. The climate of Castilla y León is perfectly suited to Tempranillo, with icy winds in winter and hot humid summers, Bodegas Tridente is able to produce wines with depth and body, whilst still remaining elegant with a distinct acidity.

The true beauty of the wines are rooted in the history of the vines. Some of the grapevines are over 100 years old, producing extremely low yields of grapes with intensely concentrated flavours.
