Description
At Rey Fernando De Castilla two quality lines are used, the "Classic" and the "Antique". The special Antique series is formed by individual soleras that are not blended, cleared or filtered. The sherries are aged in oak for a long time. They are bottled in clear glass bottles to show their true color and hue. Nothing is hidden! Sherry's that can rightly be seen (and enjoyed!)! the wine has partially had 'Flor'.
The wine comes from a single solera system, ie. a sherry that is blended to a limited extent and for which only the best wines are used. the wine has had 'Flor'. Every year 5000 bottles are made of the Non Vintage Oloroso from the top series Antique. The Oloroso is open and expressive in the nose with beautiful notes of hazelnuts and varnished wood and a fresh sweet scent of spices, cognac, chocolate and mandarin. The perfectly balanced taste is intense, clean and pure with a very nice long finish. It fills the mouth with great taste and an underlying sweetness, which makes the wine really interesting. It is not without reason that this Oloroso from Rey Fernando has received no fewer than 95 Parker points.

When the world-famous 3-star chef and avid sherry lover Heston Blumenthal was looking for the best sherry for his perfect dish 'sherry trifle', he didn't have to search long. He immediately visited the cellars of bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla where he was warmly received by director Jan Pettersen from Norway. You can't think of a better reference… Jan Pettersen, one of the largest sherry ambassadors, took over Bodegas Rey Fernando de Castilla in 1999 after working for sherry giant Osborne for 15 years. He quickly turned the bodega, originally founded in 1837, into an absolute top producer of sherry and brandies. Rey Fernando de Castilla is a sherry bodega that makes only prestigious and premium sherry. The wines are not blended (!) And, for example, cold stabilization is omitted. Everything is about preserving the subtle and pure aromas of these distinct wines.
Bodega Rey Fernando de Castilla is located in the historic center of Jerez. In addition to the famous brandies, the most beautiful sherries from the area are made. From the light and elegant finos to the unique 'antique' sherries, they have all won prestigious awards. It has been decided to segment the product line into the 'classic' and the 'antique' line. The 'classic' line includes authentic and exemplary sherries such as fino, amontillado, manzanilla, pedro ximenez and the very high quality cream sherry, while the 'antique' line includes wines from individual soleras (not blended), which are not clarified nor filtered and aged on oak for a very long time. The sherries are bottled in clear glass bottles to show their true color and shade. After all, there is nothing to hide from this bodega.
