Description
This Gran Barquero Fino and Rama is aged organically, under a veil of yeast (flor) in a Criaderas and soleras system that is on average eight to ten years old, so the effect of the flor (yeast) on the wine is beautifully present. It is oxidative and has a darker color with a pronounced nose, with the classic aromas. The palate is round but it is also long and sharp with pungent flavors and a salty finish. It reached 15% alcohol without being fortified. 1,200 half liter bottles produced. 93/100
The Pérez Barquero wineries were founded in 1905, although they began their modern era in 1985 with the purchase by the Córdoba, Ruz and Gracia families, and have been part of the history of the city of Montilla in Cordoba ever since. Pérez Barquero is actually the spearhead of a group that also includes the wineries Gracia Hermanos, Tomás García and Compañía Vinícola del Sur. Undoubtedly one of the great quality references of Montilla-Moriles.

Perez Barquero is known worldwide for the quality of its wines. The first cellars of Perez Barquero were established in 1905 in the historic town of Montilla-Moriles, south of Cordoba. The tradition of winemaking here dates back to Roman times and has never left the city. Until 1933, Montilla-Moriles was part of the Sherry area of Jerez. Since it got its own designation of origin, the winegrowers have gone their own way. The more than 100-year-old cellars of Perez Barquero are still in use. Unlike the Sherries from Jerez, Barquero's wines are made exclusively from the Pedro Ximénez grape.
