Marsuret Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Brut DOCG Magnum
Marsuret has traditionally been a family business and Prosecco producer in the Valdobbiadene area, with great respect for tradition and nature. The history begins as Agostino's grandfather, in between the two world wars, buys a vineyard in Val de Cune (Guia di Valdobbiadene) and starts producing sparkling wine with natural fermentation in the bottle. Since 1980 the domain has been in the hands of the brothers Ermes and Walter Marsura. Under their impetus, production techniques have improved so much that they are able to offer top quality that meets the strict requirements of the most critical consumer. Marsuret wants to maximize the personal character and typical taste of each grape variety and terroir.
The wine is made from the best selection of grapes from the vineyards located in Guia and Santo Stefano. The Prosecco Superiore is made from white wine in a classic way with gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperatures. The sparkling process consists of Méthode Charmat. The pressure is 4.8-5.2 atmospheres.
In the nose, the Marsuret Prosecco Superiore has a fine and elegant bouquet of flowers and fruit. The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore Brut has a beautiful perlage of just refined bubbles and is nicely mineral. On the palate, the prosecco has a dry and fresh taste, powerful and well-balanced. This is an ideal as an aperitif and for every moment.

Charmat method
This beautiful Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Extra Dry is produced according to the Charmat method whereby a second fermentation does not take place in the bottle, but in the stainless steel barrel. Yeast and sugar are added to the tank, creating carbon dioxide. Because this carbon dioxide cannot escape, it dissolves in the wine. Liqueur d'expédition is added for bottling, a mixture of cane sugar, white wine and possibly esprit de cognac. When the second fermentation is finished, the sparkling wine is bottled under pressure. There is no contact with the outside air at any time.
Winery Marsuret
Marsuret is one of the few wineries that can carry the Prosecco Superiore predicate. You have Prosecco and Prosecco Superiore and that makes a world of difference. To be allowed to feed Prosecco Superiore DOCG, strict rules must be met:
- The grapes must come from the Conegliano Valdobbiadene region and here also the vinification must take place. The following municipalities fall within this region: Conegliano, San Vendemiano, Colle Umberto, Vittorio Veneto, Tarzo, Cison di Valmarino, San Pietro di Feletto, Refrontolo, Susegana, Pieve di Soligo, Farra di Soligo, Follina, Miane, Vidor and Valdobbiadene.
- The minimum amount of Glera (the official name of the prosecco grape) in the wine must be at least 85%.
- The maximum yield per hectare is 135 hectoliters per hectare. This is substantially higher with the regular Proseccos.
- The maximum amount of juice compared to the picked fruit is 70%. So a maximum of 70 liters of juice can be squeezed from 100 kilos of grapes.
- Bottling must take place in the province of Treviso.
- Strict regulations with regard to residual sugar
