Emilio Lustau's impressive bodega complex (since 1896) is located in the heart of Jerez, the proud capital of the Andalusian sherry region. The city is actually called Jerez de la Frontera, because for a long time it was on the border of a Moorish and Christian sphere of influence. What makes Lustau sherries so special? In addition to the large bodegas, the sherry region has the so-called almacenistas, 'storekeepers' of small quantities of special sherry. The Lustau bodega contains more than 20,000 barrels, a monumental wine cellar with beautiful sherries.

Manuel Lozano is the capataz (cellar master) of Lustau. He knows how the special character of sherry is created. Lozano: "Our sherries are the result of a careful selection of the best wines that have been fortified with wine alcohol and then undergo a delicate aging process in the solera". In addition to the standard series (fino, medium dry and oloroso), the fantastic Lustau Reserva sherries ripen in Lustau's bodega. And finally, in Lustau's treasury, the famous Almacenista wines are cherished: small quantities of special top sherries with a unique taste. They come from small, traditional bodegas where the art of maturing old sherries has been handed down from father to son for generations. The average age of these jewels varies from 30 to 60 years. Lustau is currently working with oenologist Manuel Lozano, who is the only one to be named 'Best Fortufied winemaker' six times in a row and has ensured the excellent quality of the total portfolio for years.

The Lustau Sherry Solera Pedro Ximenez San Emilio comes naturally from the Jerez de la Frontera (Spain) The Pedro Ximénez grapes are placed in the sun after picking until they are practically raisins. After that, the fermentation starts slowly and is stopped to preserve all the natural sugars. The resulting wine is aged 12 years in contact with the air in Jerez de la Frontera in the famous Solera system in American oak. This Sherry has a rich aroma and taste of nuts, figs, raisins. Rich, sweet, creamy in the mouth. Nice sweet-sour balance and full long finish. Serve with rich desserts, pies and pastries, or pour over vanilla ice cream. Perfect accompaniment to strong blue cheeses. Ideal as a digestive.
