Laphroaig 1815

This special edition was created by the current Laphroaig Distillery Manager, John Campbell, in tribute to his predecessors.
The whiskey was allowed to rest in first-fill, over-charred ex-bourbon barrels, after which this Laphroigh 1815 was able to mature further in large European oak hogshead barrels.

Laphroaig 1815 Legacy Edition is a powerful and distinctive whiskey with seductive flavors. Tones of oak, dried fruit and typical smoking and peat notes.
A whiskey that goes wonderfully with different tapas!

Appearance: bronze, viscous. Like an orange setting sun
Nose: Very fruity with soft peat, red apples, yellow plums, brine and some peat fires with a hint of chocolate.
Taste: peat, acetone, bitter lemon zest, sweet wood herbs you normally get in sherry casks, honey and a touch of ash.
Finish spiced with a soft sweetness, some bitter notes, with a white pepper note, ash on the tongue and a dryness with some pine notes.

Conclusion You can definitely see the work John Campbell did here to serve a balanced whiskey.
It is sweet, bitter, fruity and smoky. The virgin European oak adds almost sherry-like notes to the mouth. The craftsmanship comes up this whiskey. You smell, taste and experience it !!!!
