Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Rose Sans Annee is the pink expression of the famous and successful classic: Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label. It is complemented with some extra pinot noir from the best crus in the region. Because of that extra touch of top class pinot noir, this Rose has a delightful accent of small red fruit in perfume and taste. A wonderful aperitif of a high level and a special companion of fine dishes at the table! A grandiose rose champagne from Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin. Dynamic, playful, powerful, long and with a lot of character.
color: deep copper pink. Beautifully clear and distinguished. Energetic, mobile mousse made from countless tiny tiny bubbles.
fragrance: sublime fruit expression, belonging to a top class champagne rosé. Deliciously fresh and pure, small red fruit - cherries and especially the refinement of raspberries. While you enjoy the perfume (with the nose), you hear the bubbles "exploding" on the surface, bursting.
taste: Powerful, vinous taste, so characteristic of Veuve champagnes. You taste that the pinot noir gives an extra accent: wonderfully small, red fruit, something candied and some spicy too.
Today's Maison van Veuve Clicquot has one of the finest champagne vineyards, both in the size and quality of the vines. The 390 hectares are spread over 12 of the 17 Grands Crus and between 20 of the 44 Premiers Crus that make up the entire Champagne region. This exceptional heritage has been built up over the centuries, based on the plots first laid out by the founder and supplemented by later owners. Veuve Clicquot bears Madame Clicquot's casual territorial mark.
While the latter represents only a quarter of the total area of the vines in the entire Champagne region. The grape variety of each plot is determined by assessing the soil, climate, and exposure. The Veuve Clicquot vineyard consists of 47% Chardonnay grapes, 36% Pinot Noir and 17% Pinot Meunier. Clicquot's vines are usually located on gently sloping hillsides allowing the vines to take advantage of shallow soil and maximum exposure to sunlight. Since its inception, the Maison de Veuve Clicquot has also built a strong partnership with its fellow winegrowers in Champagne. These suppliers of grapes and white wines contribute to the consistent quality of the Veuve Clicquot wines.
