The Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old champagne is the new innovative champagne from champagne house Veuve Clicquot. The wine has the name Extra Brut because the dosage is limited to 3 grams of sugar per liter (read: less sugar). This amount achieved the optimum balance between crispy purity and creamy smoothness. You also experience both dimensions with every sip of this champagne. For comparison: the regular champagne from Veuve Clicquot has a dosage of 10 grams per liter. The name Extra Old comes because this concerns a special assembly of 6 different reserve wines, so it is a Non vintage (NV). This unique composition has undergone an additional 3 years of maturation after 3 years in barrel (so a total of 6 years) and after the disgorgement, the champagne has been given an extra year of rest.

Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old has a carbon dioxide pressure of 4.5 bar. In comparison: a regular champagne bottle has a pressure of 6 bar. It makes the Extra Old Extra Brut a bit more refined in terms of mouthfeel. It is a multi-vintage or non-vintage champagne (100% reserve wines) with good aging potential.

This version is the Veuve Clicquot Extra Brut Extra Old 2ème Cuvée and is a blend of 1990, 1998, 1999, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012.
