Champagne L. Bénard-Pitois Carte Blanche Brut Premier Cru
The family has been producing champagne since 1895. They do this in Mareuil-sur-Aÿ (just a few kilometers from the town of Epernay). The third generation is currently continuing the tradition and Michelle and Laurent are providing excellent champagnes. The champagnes that come from Bernard-Pitois are all made in a sustainable way.
The vineyard is classified as Premier Cru and has 9.5 hectares spread over 6 different villages. Supported by vines that are on average 25 years old, grapes show the best of the potential of the plots and varieties.
The L. Bénard-Pitois Carte Blanche Brut Premier Cru is made from the typical champagne grapes Pinot noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay so as befits a Premier Cru. The Carte Blanche Brut Premier Cru has a light color with a small pink shimmer. The nose gives notes of grapefruit and lemon, and after a while aromas of honey and toffee come through. The perlage of this champagne is nothing short of amazing. This is a very authentic and handsome champagne produced with respect for people and nature. For us incomparable with the mass-produced champagnes but on the contrary a champagne with a soul and with character which in terms of price is also a lot cheaper than the large mass brands. The champagnes of L. Bénard-Pitois are highly recommended by the Grandcru wine team.
