Cuvée 745 from the Maison Jacquesson, is from the 2017 harvest, a low volume harvest, but with rich and dense wines. Beautiful Extra-Brut champagne (0.75 g/l), made from 55% of the terroirs of Aÿ, Dizy and Hautvillers and 45% of those of Avize and Oiry. One of the "700" numbered vintages, famous for their finesse, purity and incredible aging potential. Resulting from a blend of Chardonnay-43%, Meunier-30% and Pinot Noir-27%, the nose reveals notes of citrus fruits and brioche. The air bubble (perlage) is of great finesse and air. The mouth is very elegant, on white fruit, with a slightly woody and mineral touch. A fine, complex and tense champagne profile.

After harvesting, the grapes are destemmed and pressed and undergo temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation with wild yeasts in old large wooden casks (some 120 years old), followed by malolactic fermentation and maturation on the 'lie'. After this, sugar and yeast are added to the wine again and then it is bottled and closed with a crown cap. Carbon dioxide (prise de mousse) is produced during the subsequent fermentation. Dosage of 0.75 g/L, so an Extras Brut. Disgorged January 2022 This entire process takes place without any form of filtering and according to biological rules and regulations.

Jacquesson champagnes are the absolute top among Champagnes. Excellent quality and excellent value for money. It is not for nothing that the Jacquesson champagnes invariably receive high ratings from all wine institutes. The Champagne Jacquesson has been awarded 3 stars in the ranking of La Revue du Vin de France. This ranking provides a quality assessment of the 1,300 best wineries in France. The judgment is expressed in stars. A rating of three stars is the maximum that can be obtained. The previous cuvée 73x and 74x have all received (more than) 90+ Parker points.

Vineyard for Champagne Jacquesson Cuvee 745 Extra Brut

acquesson Champagne was founded in 1798 by Memmie Jacquesson in Chalons-en-Champagne. Memmie gave the new house its name and was immediately very successful: Jacquesson was one of Napoleon's favorite houses. His son Adolphe further developed the company and worked with Dr. Jules Guyot - still known today for his worldwide cutting technique and his patent on the muselet (the metal wire basket to secure the champagne cork). The early deaths of Adolphe's two sons marked the end of the family line and the temporary decline of the champagne house.

In 1974, Champagne Jacquesson was taken over by the Chiquet family and the core of the company moved to Dizy amid its own vineyards. The house features premier crus and grand crus vineyards in the villages of Dizy, Avize and Aÿ in La Grande Vallée de la Marne and La Côte des Blancs (named after the color of the grapes; around 95% of the grapes grown here consists of chardonnay). Champagne Jacquesson has 31.5 ha of its own vineyard and uses 10 ha of contracted, friendly winegrowers who work according to the same rules as those working in their own vineyards.

Jacquesson Champagne is a small champagne house, but a very special house. Annual production is only 350,000 bottles. In the vineyards and in the cellars we strive for absolute quality, just like with other houses. But Jacquesson has added something else: on the one hand, his champagnes are made from a single vineyard, and on the other, the aim is not to bring a consistent non-vintage style to the market. Every year we look at how to get the best out of the vineyards, and every year the non-vintage wine is different! In 2000 the first non-vintage was made in this way. The wine was named No. 728. Every year now receives a new number.
For the past 20 years, brothers Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet have worked hard with only one goal in mind: to express the fantastic terroir of Champagne in their wines. Champagne Jacquesson has now reached the top with three stars in the La Revue du Vin de France ranking. The secret to the Chiquet brothers' success? Working according to the traditional method: respect for the soil, control of harvest yield, optimal ripeness of the grape and vinification of the individual plots.

Jacquesson champagnes are the absolute top of the Champagnes. Excellent quality and excellent price-quality. Not for nothing did the cha, pagnes invariably get 92 points or more from Parker. The Champagne Jacquesson has received 3 stars in the La Revue du Vin de France ranking. This ranking gives a quality assessment of the 1,300 best wineries in France. The judgment is expressed in stars. A three-star rating is the maximum that can be obtained.

This small (annual production 350,000fl.) Champagne house has been at the absolute top in Champagne for several years. This Champagne house has been classified in the top 3 of the Champagnes by "Le Classement 2006". Jacquesson & Fils is one of a small number of small TOP producers who prioritize quality over quantity. The entire range of this house shines of pure class.
