Description
After the great success of Miraval 'The Art of Rosé', the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin families announce a new project: FLEUR DE MIRAVAL, the only Champagne house in the world that focuses exclusively on Rosé Champagne. In complete secrecy, FLEUR DE MIRAVAL was created from the collaboration of the Jolie-Pitt and Perrin families with an established name in the Champagne business: the Péters family. The Péters family has been based in the Champagne region since 1919 and sells its high-quality Blanc de Blancs Champagnes all over the world. Rodolphe Péters, manager of the Grand Cru vineyards of the Péters family, has had strong ties with the Perrin family for years. The shared passion for creating 'the great wines of the world' proved to be a fertile basis for the development of the FLEUR DE MIRAVAL Rosé Champagne. The crowning achievement of five years of dedication, research and refinement.
After the successful launch of Fleur de Miraval three years ago, actor Brad Pitt and his partners have launched a new vintage: Petite Fleur. With a majority of Chardonnays, mainly from Grand Cru Mesnil-sur-Oger, and a touch of Pinot Noir from the neighboring Premier Cru Vertus, Petite Fleur's subtle blend is classic, in the tradition of great Champagne rosés. The name is a tribute to the American jazzman Sidney Bechet and his hit Petite Fleur.
The Petite Fleur from Fleur de Miraval is a champagne made from a blend of 5% Pinot Noir, 95% Chardonnay. The wine is made according to the unique saignée method, which gives the wine its subtle pink color. The combination of older Chardonnay with young Pinot Noir grapes gives the wine beautiful notes of red currant and raspberry, with a delicate minerality. After fermentation, the Rosé Champagne matures in the bottle for 3 years in the dark cellars of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. To protect the champagne against UV radiation, each bottle is varnished; so the wine is only exposed to daylight when the bottle is opened.
This rosé champagne 'Petite Fleur' opens with a beautiful spring floral bouquet of peony and hawthorn, supported by fresh, acidic red fruits such as raspberry and red currant. The palate is bright, juicy and meaty, chiseled with fresh lemony citrus, reminiscent of grapefruit and mandarin, with a subtle, airy finish. Petite Fleur' is the signature of its origins: the great terroirs of the Côte des Blancs, rooted in the noble purity of the chalk.

Château Miraval is the rock star among the vineyards of Provence. That is not only due to the image of the winery, in which the Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt live with their families.
"Sting" and "The Cranberries" were already guests in the recording studio in the house. But the highlight is the creation of the song “The Wall” by Pink Floyd at Château Miraval! The Perrin winemaker family, itself a star in the international wine industry, is an important part of this because of its excellent wine. The winemaker Marc Perrin is responsible for the wines at the Château Miraval, while the Jolie-Pitt family provides the necessary prestige.
The climate in which Château Miraval is located is Mediterranean, the grapes grow here at an altitude of 350 meters on protected, landscaped terraces. Warm, sunny weather during the day, alternates with cool nights, giving the grapes a lot of freshness and balance. The terroir is influenced by clay and lime, which provide the plants with water on one side and drains abundant water on the other, thus producing healthy, ripened grapes.
The Château Miraval and the surrounding village of Correns are the first “organic village” in all of France. In the meanwhile world-famous rosé from Château Miraval, a Blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and Rolle is made. For the creamy content of the Rosé wine from Château Miraval, 10% of the wine is aged in old wooden barrels. A fruity, very convincing taste and concept rosé wine, in which creativity and beauty can come together in a gentle elegance. It is not always successful when a famous person or family commits to a wine, although there are many good examples (just think of Bocelli with his wines), but in the case of Miraval, the wine was already of top quality before Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt bought the domain and luckily they also left the making of the beautiful Miraval Rose and Miraval Blanc to the experts. Both the Miraval rose and the white wine version of the Miraval are among the top of the Provence wines. The problem is that the worldwide demand for the Miraval rose is unprecedentedly large and that wine estate certainly cannot meet the demand, so supply is certainly limited and advice is to store this in time. We had periods with a nice early spring when the Miraval rosé was already sold out in May.
