The Cognac Très Vieille Reserve de Lafite Rothschild is a rare and very old Reserve Cognac (50 years or older). At Château Lafite Rothschild, cognacs have been made for centuries, but in very small quantities and the majority of the often only a few bottles were consumed at the Chateau where this exceptional cognac closes the meal. Fortunately, it is tradition each year to keep and age a certain percentage of their own production and we believe there is no better place for this than in the cellars of Lafite Rothschild - brooding alongside the iconic wines.

To create the "Reserve Lafite Rothschild Cognac, they go the old way, helping to set aside exceptional lots here and there. Each year, the team selects Cognacs of at least 50 years of age, all made from the best crus of the appellation Grande Champagne and Borderies and they are constantly looking for a perfect mix, elegance, balance, and complexity to create an exceptional Cognac

Only a very small number of bottles of this exceptional cognac are available outside the Chateau and under strict conditions only a very select group may offer this cognac (including Grand Cru wines). Lafite's instruction is:

"The château insist that those bottles have to been sold to the best private clients, to the restaurants, top bars in palace, and most beautiful wine shops of the world".

Color: Amber color, almost mahogany
Nose: Very complex, combining wood, vanilla, old Porto, dry fruit, nuts to floral notes (dry rose), but also spicy (clove and pepper), cigar box
Taste: Light and elegant structure, rich and woody notes. It is perfectly balanced and the length is exceptional

The Lafite Cognac, given its rarity and long maturation, exhibits a complexity, suppleness and exceptional aromatic persistence that make it ideal to enjoy as a digestif at the end of a meal.
