Cadeaupakket Sierra Cantabria Reserva Unica en Organza Blanco in Luxe Schuifkist

The Organza from Sierra Cantabria Organza barrel/barrique fermented is a blend of the Viura, Malvasia & Garnacha Blanca grapes and comes from the old vineyard San Vicente de la Sonsierra. After manual picking, the grapes are cold soaked for 12 hours to extract extra flavor and aroma from the grapes. The fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels. Followed by barrel aging for 9 months and battonage (stirring the dead yeast cells for extra body and volume) twice a week during the first 6 months. This is a beautiful refined white Rioja with beautifully refined oak and a nice butterscotch. In the nose white fruits and in the mouth a good acidity and again beautiful fruit tones with refined oak and vanilla. This is a very nice elegant white wine of which only between 6,000 and 9,000 bottles are made each year.

The Sierra Cantabria Reserva Unica is bright ruby red in the glass. Expressive aromas of currant, cherry, licorice. Juicy on the palate, with flavors of red fruit mixed with toasted vanilla and underlying mineral notes. In the nose tobacco, licorice, vanilla, blackcurrant and black cherries jump out of the glass. In the mouth this full bodied wine still has light tannins in the aftertaste. The perfect acidity prolongs the long, spicy, flower-dominated finish. This wine is still young and will improve in the coming years. The Spanish winery Sierra Cantabria was founded in 1957 by Guillermo Eguren. This Reserva Unica is therefore one of the beautiful wines from the collection of Hermanos Eguren .
