This traditional sparkling wine is made in the Franciacorta area, between Brescia and Bergamo, by Lake Iseo. The mountains and the lake have a favorable influence on the wine. The soil and the same grape varieties as in the champagne ensure that this wine has become a formidable competitor of the well-known champagnes. Aging in the bottle takes place for 25 to 37 months, creating very elegant, internationally appreciated wine. It is a blend of young and reserve wines. Beautifully dry and fruity, fresh, berries, elegant wine with a nice persistent perlage.
The CA'del Bosco Saten is a blend of 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Bianco and this unique wine can best be described as feminine, elegant, luxurious, soft and round. A true delight for the senses with rich, sensual nuances. Satèn refers to the elegant femininity and delicate texture of silk. Aten contains fewer sugars than the other Franciacortas. The long ripening permeates every bottle with creamy elegance and a soft texture. Delicious as an aperitif. A pure and genuine Franciacorta with refined fruit tones and a clear expression of the exceptional terroir.
The base wine fermentes in small wooden barrels. Here the wine matures for another 5 months to give the wine as many aromas and complexity as possible. Seven months after the harvest, the blend is composed. This Satèn is a mix of 18 basic wines and less sugar is added than with the other Franciacortas. After the composition, the wine matures at least 48 months "sur lie". Ca 'del Bosco has a patent on a unique system to perform degorgement.
Ca 'del Bosco is owned by Maurizio Zanella, one of the most important producers of the area, if not all of Italy. Zanella played a major role in the Italian wine renaissance of recent decades. The work of Zanella led to the Franciacorta area acquiring DOCG status in 1995. This status only applies to the sparkling wines according to the metodo tradizionale (the way in which French Champagne is made). With no less than 30 times the maximum score in the Gambero Rosso, Ca 'Del Bosco is one of the most appreciated and successful wineries in Italy.
The company is located in a spectacular modern building, beautifully situated in the hills and surrounded by 160 hectares of vineyard. Art plays a major role. The most modern techniques are used in the cellars.
