On the occasion of their 20th anniversary, cult winery Bibi Graetz from Tuscany is launching two special boxes containing different vintages Colore and Testamatta respectively. A total of 888 boxes were made of the Testamatta Anniversario, of which Grandcruwijnen received 15. All boxes are numbered and contain a booklet with a description per year.
This vertical box contains 6 bottles of the Bibi Graetz Testamatta with the vintages: 2007, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2018 and 2019. These vintages have been specially selected by Bib Graetz because, in his opinion, these are the most remarkable, unique vintages, making this a unique vertical composition.

Bibi Graetz started making wines twenty years ago in Tuscany, where the authenticity of the region comes first. No international grape varieties here, but Sangiovese in all its glory and also the traditional grape varieties such as Colorino and Canaiolo. The wines of Bibi Graetz are very special examples of Sangiovese and ultimate embodiments of terroir and the unique characteristics of a vintage. The wines have already achieved many very high scores in the wine press. In these special boxes, 6 different vintages Colore and Testamatta are bundled, which show the difference between harvest years on the one hand, and the development of Bibi Graetz on the other.
The Testamatta comes from vineyards of very old vines spread across the various vineyards cultivated by Bibi Graetz in both the provinces of Siena and Firenze in Tuscany. The vineyard(s) are actually small postage stamp plots with vines dating back 80 years or more, and each plot represents enological properties that have been specifically selected for its individual character or uniqueness. After manual picking and fermentation, the sangiovese matures in French oak barriques for a period of 30 months, after which the wine is bottled and undergoes a further bottle aging of at least 6 months in the cellars of Bibi Graetz. In the glass, the wine has a deep ruby red color with an intense and complex bouquet of scents, blueberries, cherries, violets, juniper berries, rosemary, cloves and cocoa on the nose. The taste is elegant, with great finesse and complexity. The wine is powerful, full of fruit with velvety tannins. The finish is soft, intense and very long lasting.
