Description
Family-owned Rapaura Springs was founded in 2005 and ranks among the top 10 largest wineries in Marlborough. Purity and purity is what Rapaura Springs stands for. For example, the water used for the vines comes from the Rapaura Spring water source, far away from the vineyards. This crystal clear and pure water from the Wairau River flows through the rocks and takes 6 months to reach the vineyards. The word 'Rapaura' therefore means: flowing water. There is great attention to detail within the New Zealand winery and the makers strive to make the most exceptional, clean and pure wines. All wines are sustainably produced.
The Sauvignon is light yellow with green hues. The taste is rich in white and tropical fruits and has pronounced notes of white peach, lime zest, white nectarine and passion fruit along with spices and citrus. The Rapaura Sauvignon blanc is medium-bodied, fruity with a seductive taste and offers plenty of citrus and spicy taste in the mouth characterized by beautiful acidity and a long finish. Ideal with fish and Caesar salad. The Sauvignon Blanc was voted Best Sauvignon Blanc at the Wine & Spirit Competition in London and received rave reviews from Harold Hamersma and Hubrecht Duijker.
This wine gets a complete boost because it came in at 41st place in the top 100 best wines in the World of Wine Spectator (released in November 2021). Quite unique for a wine in this price range. https://top100.winespectator.com/lists/
“The Rapaura Springs. Source of a juicy-grassy, nice and firm Sauvignon Blanc. Pepper and spice on the finish. Harold Hamersma in De Grote Hamersma 2016, assessed with an 8.5
“Superior in its kind is the 2014 Rapaura Springs Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand's largest wine region, Marlborough. In addition to being flawless, it tastes refreshingly fresh and not too light, with an aroma in which grassiness, boxwood and green fruit go hand in hand. Producer Spring Creek Vintners uses grapes for the Rapaura Springs brand from 54 small plots, spread over twenty different vineyards, four of which are self-owned. Ultimate fish wine”, Hubrecht Duijker, October 1, 2015.
