At Cignomoro it is very consciously about the choices they make and have made. They consciously chose Puglia, consciously for the vineyards and to grow their vines there. They chose this because they believe that they can make wine that speaks here. The power of the sun, wind and sea ensure that every sip is unique. They chose the “red countries” between Manduria and Carosino. With the latest vinification techniques, without forgetting the value of a family winery, they ensure that the wines of Cignomoro are among the best in Puglia.
The completely healthy grapes for the Cignomoro Pepe Primitivo are crushed and fermented in small barrels under controlled temperatures. The soaking takes more than a month. Maceration in stainless steel tanks and partly in barriques for 3 to 4 months. The Cignomoro Pepe Primitivo is a 100% Primitivo. In the glass, this quintessential Puglia wine has a deep ruby red color. In the nose we smell notes of small red and black fruit such as currant, red cherry, raspberry and blackberry, but also aromas of cedar, herbs are clearly recognizable in the wine. A beautifully balanced wine with soft tannins and a persistent aftertaste.
