Sergio and Thea were revolutionaries. A revolution that started in the vineyard (one of the first to have a high planting density per hectare and to experiment with non-traditional vines and was one of the first Italian wineries to switch to organic viticulture) to continue in the cellars. Vittorio and David, their sons, continued the life's work after the death of their mother in 1989. Important collaborations were established with the best Italian oenologists: a young Francesco Spagnolli in the early 1980s, then Vittorio Fiore to Donato Lanati, whose teachings were fundamentally were for Vittorio's growth. After that, Tre Monti has experienced serious growth and is seen as one of the top companies of the Romagna region and this is also endorsed by the press, being the first to receive the "three glasses" in Gamberro Rosso in 1997) followed by many high ratings ( The 2008 Thea was one of the first Sangiovese di Romagna to receive 90/100 from Wine Spectator, Thea Passito, even 94/100 from Wine Enthusiast.
The Imola estate, which also houses the winery, is located in the beautiful area of the "Tre Monti" (Three Mountains), on the first hills of Imola, at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level. The Orange Wine is made 100% Albana - organically grown from the Vigna Bacchilega vineyard located on the Imola Estate which was planted in 1980
This is a so-called Orange wine and that means nothing more or less that it is a white wine made from white grapes but whose skins ripen with this wine and with this wine the skin contact has been no less than 95 days in Georgian amphora (Kvevri). The great thing about an Orange Wine like this is that you can taste many characteristics of red wine in this orange wine. The color of this "Orange" wine is deep and light orange. The scent is calm and yet very complex, with notes of very ripe fruit, candied peel, honey and marzipan. In the lush taste surprisingly much juice with a very rich aftertaste in which one encounters a lot of ripe stone fruit.

Sometimes some "life choices" occur in a non-traditional way, perhaps with the belief that they are guided by emotions and feelings when, more or less unconsciously, someone obeys something else. So it was when Thea and Sergio Navacchia set out on this adventure in the early 1970s. Sergio and Thea, in their own way, were revolutionaries. A revolution that started in the vineyard (one of the first with a high planting density per hectare and experimenting with non-traditional vines) to continue in the cellars. Vittorio and David, their sons, continued the life's work after the death of their mother in 1989. The wine company has made the full step as one of the first to fully organic production and all wines have therefore been certified organic for years. The Tere Monte winery consists of two different estates, one on the hills of Imola, the other between Castrocaro and Predappio. The total area covers about 50 hectares, all planted with vines. As is also known from Burgundy, for example, all areas have been grouped into plots and even within the same plot a large number of compositions have been brought to light, resulting in a further subdivision into micro zones. The detailed knowledge of the soils has made it possible to plant varieties, each with its own specificity. The results are palpable in quality and richness and in the diversity of the grapes obtained.
The Imola estate, which also houses the winery, is located in the beautiful area of the "Tre Monti" (Three Mountains), on the first hills of Imola, at an altitude of about 100 meters above sea level. The total area is about 26 hectares, entirely cultivated as a vineyard. The location of the vineyard is south-southeast. The soil is mainly clay-loam and very compact. The examination of the soil confirmed what had become clear from years of experience: in fact, the specific position of Imola plots and their composition show that they are particularly suitable for white grapes. The Petrignone estate, which covers about 28 hectares, is beautifully situated on the hills of Forlì, between Castrocaro and Predappio. It is an atmospheric terrace on the Adriatic plain, at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level. The vineyards are all south facing. The soil is clayey with the presence of pebbles. In fact, it is a real microcosm in which there are different types of soil.
