2022 Tenuta di Biserno Sof Bibbona

SOF is the new rosé from Tenuta Campo di Sasso, designed by and dedicated to Sophia Antinori, the daughter of Marchese Lodovico. The grapes, Cabernet Franc and Syrah, are selected in the San Giovanni vineyard, located on the gently sloping hillside in Bibbona, not far from the Tuscan coast of the Alta Maremma.

The soil type is loam with sand, silt and a small percentage of clay. The sea breeze ensures good healthy ventilation of the vineyards, creating a benevolent temperature difference between day and night. This preserves freshness and develops complexity. The grapes are picked in the very early hours of the morning at the end of August. After careful sorting, the grapes are gently and very lightly pressed after a short maceration period. During this short period of time, winemaker Helena Lindberg evaluates the precious juice to obtain the specific color and flavor that Sophia and Lodovico Antinori desired. The juice then goes through alcoholic fermentation in a temperature-controlled stainless steel tank. The wine rests in stainless steel barrels for five months prior to bottling.

The Biserno Antinori Sof is not your average rosé but a beautiful wine with weight on the mid palate and length and has an excellent balance between the fresh, fruity aromas and delicate flavors. Special attention has been paid to the presentation of the bottle, a satin amphora shape with the signature, SOF, embossed. Production is limited to 12,000 bottles which are distributed all over the world and the Netherlands only receives a handful of this highly sought after wine and Grandcru wines can offer this SOF exclusively. The SOF Rosato is a rosé that can age excellently and we recommend that you only consume this wine after 2-3 years because the wine will then be perfectly balanced. A gastronomic highlight and a jewel on the table.
