2022 Little Beauty Limited Edition Sauvignon Blanc

A true masterpiece by winemaker Eveline Fraser. We didn't expect anything else from her. For years she was the winemaker at the famous Cloudy Bay. However, she has now founded her own winery: Little Beauty. And as the name makes clear, she goes for quality and not quantity. The winery is small, but all the attention goes to the bottles. The Limited Edition Sauvignon Blanc is a fine example of an aromatic, intense and delicious Single Vineyard Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. This version has been given stainless steel maturation and the Black Editions are given a (long) wood maturation.

As the name suggests, the production of this sauvignon blanc is very limited. In the glass, this Little Beauty has a pale rim that turns into a light yellow / lemon colored core. In the nose we smell notes of mango, honey, lemongrass, red pepper, mineral notes and all this mixed with an intriguing smokiness. on the palate the wine is exciting and complex. Juicy, fresh, fruity and elegant, but all this with power. We can still taste lemon zest, grapefruit, fresh basil, snow peas in the mouth. In one word Great and although there are certainly many similarities with Cloudy Bay and we can see that this winery got its 'origin' there, we certainly think the Little Beauty is just as beautiful and even more unique / elegant.
