The Dumanet wines are the house wines in a number of starred restaurants. As a condition to be allowed to carry these wines, we are not allowed to release the names of these restaurants, but these are sounding names and we can actually quite understand that people like to work with the wines of Dumanet because quality is very good, price very attractive and the style in which the wines are made means that this is highly appreciated by almost everyone.

The extensive vineyards are located at the foot of the Séranne and Mont Baudille in the heart of the Languedoc. The grapes thrive in this warm, sunny climate. After the alcoholic fermentation, the malolactic conversion follows. This converts the sharp malic acid into a milder lactic acid. This makes the wine slightly rounder and fuller in taste. This conversion also provides a buttery tone. This is followed by a wood aging of several months. That gives the wine the taste of vanilla. After this period, the bottle matures for a total of 10 months in the bottle in the cellar of Dumanet before it can be sold.

In the glass, this Dumanet Chardonnay Grande Reserve has a bright lemon yellow color with ripe stone fruit, almonds, vanilla, butter in the nose. In the mouth the wine is full bodied, fresh with a butter. It is mild in taste. Compared to the Chardonnay Reserve from Dumanet, this Grande Reserve is not heavier but rather a bit more elegant, mainly due to the upbringing and the location and age of the vineyards. They are older and the grapes come from a somewhat cooler area and this gives the grapes just a little more acidity. This is a very handsome chardonnay and it is not surprising that this is a popular house wine in the top catering industry.

FACT : The label depicts 2 cycling men, reminiscent of the beautiful bike rides through the vineyards. The winemaker used to cycle through the vineyards with the idea of making a top wine out of this one day, well, he succeeded so many years later.
