Description
In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the edge of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT Family traces its origins back to the municipality of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot winery is a family estate that operates on 20 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin. Today the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are now responsible for the vinification. Florence was educated in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to their training, they both completed many internships, at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998.
The Chardonnay grapes for the Lamy-Pillot Chassagne Montrachet Pot Bois come from a vineyard called Pot Bois and this is 1.7 hectares in size. The vineyard has an east and southeast orientation and was planted in parts, namely in 1970 - 2001 - 2002. The soil consists of limestone and is not very clayey; quite stony and is very permeable to water. This chardonnay vine/clone that they use at Lamy-Pillot for this Pot Bois comes from Caillerets and the Grande Montagne! Due to the good exposure it gives a very elegant, well balanced wine, although at least 2 to 3 years are needed to give its first secondary aromas and to develop the palate. The Lamy-Pillot Chassagne Montrachet Pot Bois has also been aged for an average of 12 to 18 months in oak barrels, with a maximum of 25% new barrels
This Chassagne Montrachet Pot Bois is very elegant with a subdued scent with notes of white flowers and yellow fruit as well as a refined wood note such as vanilla due to the subdued wood upbringing. These aromas are also reflected in the taste and the fine acids provide a nice tension.
The wine is stored in our conditioned Wine Warehouse. If you pick up the wine you will often receive a nice discount. You will see the discount immediately when you choose to collect on our checkout page. We are almost next to the Rijksweg with plenty of parking. You can find our address here.

In 1973, René Lamy and Thérèse Pillot, both born into real wine-growing families, married and started their domain in the Hameau de Morgeot on the outskirts of Chassagne-Montrachet. The PILLOT family traces its origins back to the commune of Chassagne-Montrachet in 1595. The Lamy-Pillot wine estate is a family estate that works on 17 hectares of vineyards, spread over 27 different appellations, mainly located in Chassagne-Montrachet and Saint-Aubin.
Today the domain is owned by daughters Florence and Karine and their husbands. Florence and her husband Sebastien Caillat are now responsible for the vinification. Florence was educated in Beaune, while Sebastien Caillat was educated in Strasbourg and Dijon. In addition to the training, they both completed many internships, at home and abroad, before taking over the cellar in 1998. Karine and her husband Daniel are responsible for sales and administration.
This real family domain has more than 20 hectares of vineyards and with this they make a wide range of both white and red wines. Lamy-Pillot wines are characterized by being very rich wines with a luscious texture. In the nose floral tones, ripe fruit and a refined touch of wood. The same aromas are reflected in the taste. The fine acidity gives the whole extra complexity. The wines of Domaine Lamy-Pillot now also belong to the very scarce Bourgognes with high ratings from the international wine press year-in-year-out.
