Description

Bodegas Shaya comes from the Gil Family Estates stable (known for the Clio and Silver label, among others). The vineyard is located in the west of Segovia, planted on very sandy soils covered with alluvial pebbles. The stress on the vines and the large diurnal fluctuations, where daytime temperatures can drop as much as 25 degrees at night, help to create the fundamental acidity that (a good) Verdejo is known for. If you do not have these necessary differences in temperature, you will mainly get a too sweet monotonous wine that we unfortunately encounter too often

Rueda itself is geographically unremarkable; mainly plains, although elevated, about 700 meters above sea level for most of the region and some areas even receive snowfall. This Shaya Arindo is a delicious juicy and ripe wine with aromas of pineapple, pear and yellow apple fruit flavors that run through mango tones but also some more green tones (Ver=Green) such as freshly picked leaves and green apples. There is a great balance here between the lively structure, the juicy texture and the mineral influence that is enhanced in the long finish. The price / quality for this beautiful Juan Gil Shaya Arindo is exceptionally good.

91/100 Punto Decanter. Highly recommended.

FACT: In the Tab: Appendix you will find the official fact sheet of this fine wine. We will automatically send it to you when you order this wine. The wine is in our conditioned Wine Warehouse and if you come to collect the wine you will also receive a nice discount . Bodegas Shaya also makes a fantastic Sauvignon Blanc and one of the most beautiful wood-aged Verdejo that can compete with a Belondrade without any problems, but substantially cheaper, but certainly not less!
