This Cuvée XII has been made since the year 2002 and is the main wine of the Apostelhoeve , vineyard since 1970, and in the meantime one of the most famous vineyards in the Netherlands, located south of the city of Maastricht on the Louwberg, in line with the Cannerberg on the west side of the Jekerdal. Currently, this beautiful winery has an area of 6 hectares that is used for viticulture. The grapes grow on a soil of gravel and marl with a layer of loess on top.
A gem from Dutch soil, this delicious fruity white wine, slightly spicy in taste with a soft finish. This Cuvée XII is a blend of 40% Müller-Thurgau , 30% Auxerrois and 30% Pinot-Gris grapes. In the last 25 years, making a blend of white wines has become increasingly popular. As a winegrower you can, as it were, distinguish yourself with your own recipe and winemaker Mathieu Hulst of the Apostelhoeve vineyard has certainly done that with this delicious wine. This is a wine that no one else has and is therefore unique. The wine has a broad scent of both exotic fruit and white and red fruit, and characteristic floral notes. The taste experience is also broad, with concentration and length.
This wine can be widely used in gastronomy, for example with fish dishes, salads, asparagus, risotto, pasta dishes, veal and cheeses.

Wijngaard Apostelhoeve is one of the most famous and beautiful vineyards in the Netherlands. The winery is located south of the city of Maastricht on the Louwberg, an extension of the Cannerberg on the west side of the Jeker valley.
Wine grapes were grown in the Jeker valley as early as the Middle Ages. Around 1600 the 'Little Ice Age' ended this. Hugo Hulst, fruit grower, decided to build another vineyard at De Apostelhoeve in 1970. As a result, Apostelhoeve has now become the oldest functioning wine company in the Netherlands. Currently, this beautiful winery has an area of 6 hectares that is used for viticulture.
The soil consisting of pebble and marl with a layer of loess on top lends itself perfectly to the grape varieties: pinot gris, riesling, auxerrois and rivaner. Only white wines are made from these grape varieties, which are related in style and production to wines from Alsace and which also have a wonderful fresh, mineral taste.
Wijnhuis Apostelhoeve always works very carefully with all its processes. Take, for example, the harvest of the grapes. This is seen by this wine house as one of the most crucial steps in the winemaking process. The time of harvest is mainly determined by the ripeness of the grape, as measured by sugar, acid and tannin levels with winemakers making their decision to choose according to the wine style they want to produce. The weather can also be the roster of harvesting with the threat of heat, rain, hail and frost that can damage the grapes and cause various vine diseases.
