2021 Vina Carmen Chardonnay Gran Reserva

What a thick Chardonnay this Carmen Gran Reserva, a full wood aged Chilean Chardonnay. And you can taste that because it is wonderfully creamy and full, with many complex impressions. The aging of part of the wine in new oak gives this Carmen Gran Reserva Chardonnay the scent of vanilla and toast, hazelnuts and almonds, peaches mango.

In the cool Casablanca Valley, the grapes for this special Chardonnay are planted on a soil rich in clay and loam. The ideal conditions for making a top quality Chardonnay. The grapes are located no more than thirty kilometers from the cool Pacific. The grapes are carefully harvested by hand and then rigorously checked before being pressed in the cellar. To prevent the wine from becoming too bitter, a short powerful oxidation takes place. The wine is fully fermented in French oak barrels. After aging in barrels for eight months, the wine is ready to be bottled. What a nice wine this is! Also in the taste we are not short of anything, good balance between acids and bitters and a nice length. Flavor impressions of yellow fruit, vanilla, herbs and very ripe apricots complete the whole!
