2021 Terrazas de Los Andes Torrontés

In Terrazas Torrontés you can taste the freshness of the Andes. The grapes grow at a high altitude, 1,800 meters above sea level, on the Cafayate Terrace in the northern Salta province. Under these conditions, the grape comes into its own. The wine is particularly aromatic, a combination of white blossom and rose with sensual tropical and stone fruit. The perfect acidity gives the wine a balanced elegance and delicious freshness. The 2018 harvest had a cold winter, an average spring without frost periods and a normal summer. In contrast to 2017, the afternoons in January were cloudy, a typical phenomenon for this region. This allowed the grape to ripen well before the harvest period. Torrontés 2018 stands out for its aromatic complexity, delicate freshness and full mouthfeel. The grapes are harvested by hand in March and raised in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature, of which 2 months in the yeast cells. The wine was bottled in November to preserve the freshness and fruitiness.

In the glass, the Torrontes is pale yellow with green highlights. In the nose, the wine has aromas of tropical and citrus fruits, such as lime, lychee and pineapple. The subtle note of jasmine combines nicely with that of pear and white peach. A touch of chamomile and hop flowers. In the mouth, the wine has an elegant, soothing texture. The fresh acidity mixes with fruity notes.   A precise and refined finish.
