Family-owned Rapaura Springs was founded in 2005 and ranks among the top 10 largest wineries in Marlborough. Purity and purity is what Rapaura Springs stands for. For example, the water used for the vines comes from the Rapaura Spring water source, far away from the vineyards. This crystal clear and pure water from the Wairau River flows through the rocks and takes 6 months to reach the vineyards. The word 'Rapaura' therefore means: flowing water. There is great attention to detail within the New Zealand winery and the makers strive to make the most exceptional, clean and pure wines. All wines are sustainably produced.

Rohe means territory in Te Reo means Māori and the wines of the Rohe series is a range of wines created to showcase the unique flavors of Marlborough. Marlborough's sub-regions have yet to be fully understood, each district offering different flavors and aromas. Making wines exclusively from each wine-making sub-region, the Rohe wine range emphasizes individual sub-regional flavors. Each bottle is crafted and features a bespoke illustration of a Marlborough sub-region. We would call the Rohe wines the Terroir wines of Rapaura Spring

Blind River is the driest, coolest and windiest sub-region of Marlborough. The soil of this sub-region, located on the south coast of Marlborough, is defined by the Blind River basin and consists of deep, well-drained loam layers over a diverse composition of rock materials. Grapes grown in this sub-region develop unique and intense flavors because the vines are naturally limited. Sauvignon Blanc from Blind River displays distinctive citrus, lemongrass and herbaceous characters.

The Rapaura Springs Marlborough Rohe Blind River Sauvignon Blanc is intensely aromatic with aromas of lemongrass and ripe citrus and concentrated fruit flavor. The palate is complex with mouth-filling layers of ripe grapefruit, lemongrass and melon. The delicious acidity ensures a long aftertaste.

After harvesting, the grapes were gently pressed before the individual plots of the Bull Paddock Vineyard were batch fermented in stainless steel, using a selection of yeast strains chosen to enhance the aromatics. The wine is then aged for a minimum of 6 months. own yeasts (sur lie) before the final blend is composed from the various plots and then bottled.

ABOUT 2021 IN MARLBOROUGH
The 2021 vintage was one of the earliest and shortest ever. The growing season was the third in a series of drought years, with stress on the vines exacerbated by some serious storms. The combination of early frosts and poor flowering resulted in lower yields and smaller trusses than usual. This, combined with the dry conditions, has resulted in disease levels being incredibly low this year, resulting in better flavors and pristine fruit with good concentration, good tannins and good color but with serious low yields of up to 40% less than previous years. So in summary, 2021 is one of the most beautiful vintages with good concentration and intensity of taste but with a seriously low yield.
