Description
Winemaker of Petit Balthasar and the big brother of the Balthasar is Pierrick Harang. However, there is no family castle or extensive vineyards, but five generations of wine merchants and oenologists who all share the same passion to produce the best wines.
Pierrick and family's roots lie in Algeria and after Algerian independence, his grandparents & parents gave up everything to flee to France. His father continued his knowledge & career in Champagne there, including as cellar master of the large champagne house GH. MUMM to work. Its range of wines, with a naturally lower alcohol content, are known for their delicious, fruit-driven and elegant wines. Purely for qualitative reasons, he did not choose to reduce the alcohol, but to work directly on the vines. Pierrick is a freak when it comes to picking on time, looking for the right plots of fruit and most of all to stimulate your senses!
Le Bio Balthazar Minervois Syrah - Grenache Noir or the Bio Balthazar Rouge is a balanced red wine made from the Grenache and Syrah grape. The wine comes from the Minervois region in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region in the South of France. The Bio Balthazar has a beautiful deep red color and a complex nose with rosemary, black currants, black cherries and "garrigue". The French word 'Garrigue' comes from the old Provencal word Garriga, which in turn refers to an old French word for wasteland: jarrie. This refers to a vineyard overgrown with many herbs such as thyme and laurel. More than that, it is a reference to the influence of this terroir on the locally produced red wines. The soil is rocky and gravelly. The wine is organic, Ecocert FR-BIO-01 certified. Delicious with tapas, lamb, grilled meat and cheese
