2021 Lievland Vineyards Chenin Blanc Old Vines

The Chenin Blanc Old Vines from Lievland Vineyards is made from grapes that come from vineyards in the Paarl region. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately destemmed and pressed in the vinification cellar. The juice is cooled for about 24 hours, so that the coarser components can settle. After this, the clean juice is allowed to undergo the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks in a temperature-controlled (15°C) manner. After 2 weeks, the young wine is partly transferred to clean stainless steel tanks and partly to used oak barriques, to which specially selected yeasts are added. After several months of aging, the wine is assembled, clarified, filtered and bottled.

The Chenin Blanc Old Vines from Lievland Vineyards is fresh and clear in the glass, light straw yellow in color. In the nose aromas of citrus fruit, melon, peach and something of beeswax. In the taste palette notes of lemon peel, apple, pineapple and a hint of coconut and almonds, which are accompanied by a fresh aftertaste with beautiful acids.
